Yes it does see chromecast devices fine, just not my roku smart tv. Im sure like you say it will get sorted eventually and yes it is remarkable we are this far past official support...I appreciate you and your time and efforts as well as everyone else trying to keep this device aliveCasting to Chromecast device works fine on Velocity. Honestly, there will come a point when things just arent fixable anymore. The fact were 2 major OS releases past official support is remarkable. That said, I do think this will get resolved at some point soon. Im watching code repos everywhere everyday looking for fixes for stuff as well as trying my best to sort it out myself. I have very little coding knowledge though so Ill leave it to the experts.
Yes it seems like most, if not all of the pie roms Ive tried so far have cast working to chromecast devices, which I dont have. From what I gathered from camcory yesterday this is a different issue in P with something referred to as p2p wifi or something and that is why it is broken atm. All other P Roms are using camcory's source so there is no sense in trying any other rom. I mainly check up on android x and velocity. Everything else on velocity I use being an at&t carrier works great for me. But my kids cast showbox movies way too often to our roku smart tv that I cant run P as a daily driver until this issue gets resolved.....Im sure its only a matter of time. Thank you all for everything you do for us users.....its greatly appreciatedI misunderstood the "cast" question (casting to a non chromecast device) no pie roms do this, as Erk1725 noted.
Thank you sir!Cause not everyone checks their Hangouts
Was just coming to post beta-2 will be coming soon. Basically I went back to my Oreo device and kernel and added stuff to get it working on Pie. This is MUCH better than what I (and every other Pie Rom) was using. I think apart from VoLTE on Verizon not working everything else is fixed. Network is totally stable after reboot, Hotspot works again, and calls always come through. I also added back a bunch of optimizations so this build will be much faster than the last. I would recommend clean flashing. I have a little more testing to do but look for a build later today.
Ok, new build up. I obviously havent tested everything which is why Im still qualifying this is a "beta" build.
Apparently video recording isn't working. Was it working previously? I never use it so I haven't checked it lately.I have dirty flashed beta-3 over beta-2 and the camera is working fine but when I swipe to record video, the camera app crashes. Is it a rom issue or should I try clean flashing beta-3?
Otherwise, great rom. I waited untill beta-2 to jump on the pie wagon and so far, so good. No other major issues to report.
Thank you for your work.
To be honest, I don't know either. I only found out whilst testing the speed improvements for the camera on beta 3, as I rarely use it as well.Apparently video recording isn't working. Was it working previously? I never use it so I haven't checked it lately.
If it's been in my builds before and is possible on pie then it will be added. Features are low on my priority list right now though. Is screen off torch going to make it to your pie rom? Just curious if that's on the list.
Understandable. Thanks for the Pie builds man!If
